About us

  • The Centre for IT Support (CWI) was established on the 31st of March 2023 as a result of the reorganization of AGH's IT units and is an auxiliary unit, belonging to the group of administrative centres in the central administration according to the AGH Organisational Regulations, incorporated within the IT Sector.
  • The Centre for IT Support is managed by the Director, reporting directly to the Director for IT affairs.
  • The internal structure of the Centre for IT Support is defined by the Chief Information Officer depending on the circumstances and needs. The Centre for IT Support’s structure is subject to approval by the Rector in terms of establishment of internal units in accordance with the Organisational Regulations.
  1. Director is responsible for the functioning of the Centre for IT Support in all aspects of its operation. The Director's main tasks are as follows:
    • management of the Centre for IT Support as an AGH organisational unit, as prescribed by law, including the internal law of the AGH University, taking into account the authority granted by the Rector,
    • creation of task execution plans for the Centre for IT Support,
    • organization of the Centre for IT Support day-to-day operations and management of employees and material resources assigned to the unit,
    • organisational and substantive supervision of the implementation of the Centre for IT Support tasks, monitoring the completion of basic objectives,
    • presentation of yearly reports on the Centre for IT Support 's operations to the Chief Information Officer,
  2. The Centre for IT Support Director, in particular:
    • is the direct supervisor of all the Centre for IT Support’s employees,
    • submits proposals to the Chief Information Officer on matters of employment and changes in the terms and conditions of contracts of subordinate employees,
    • is the disposer of funds provided in the material and financial plan of the AGH University for the implementation of the tasks of the Centre for IT Support, within the scope of the Rector's authorisation,
    • is responsible for the organisation of the unit's functioning in accordance with the rules set forth by law, including in particular the Statute, resolutions of the Senate and orders of the Rector,
    • is responsible for the preparation of the draft of the Centre for IT Support’s material and financial plan and its implementation,
    • plans and oversees a rational usage of the office space,
    • supervises the timely implementation of findings, decisions and applicable reporting.
  • conducting analyses in the area of widely understood informatization (digitization),
  • creation and dissemination of reports and forecasts related to the areas in question,
  • day-to-day administrative support of tasks performed by the IT Sector,
  • conducting financial affairs of the IT Sector and its units,
  • conducting human resources and payroll matters of the IT Sector,
  • handling activities in compliance with the law,
  • conducting property affairs of IT Sector units,
  • support and training of users of the AGH central systems and applications,
  • co-operation with other units in the implementation of tasks in the IT area,
  • coordination of the purchase of software used by the entire University or most organizational units.
